Access to Public Information and Data Protection

Mexican legislation guarantees complete transparency in accessing public information, and provides the tools for any private citizen or company to request all sorts of information from the government.

Occasionally, the information is deemed confidential or reserved, thus barring access.

Our practice group has experience in litigating before government agencies and offices in order to receive public information previously denied for whatever the reason.

Similarly, public and private companies holding private data are subject to strict regulations in order to avoid misuse.

At DHA, we advise our clients on how to comply adequately with government rules and regulations on handling personal data.
